Dr. John Lawton
I grew up in Grand Island NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1994 with a B.S. in Veterinary Science. I earned my D.V.M. from Kansas State University in 1998. I am Certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture and also Veterinary Chiropractic. I enjoy general mixed animal practice and the challenges of equine lameness. My wife, Lorna and I have 3 kids Abby, Kiley and Cort. We spend most of our free time following our kids as they enjoy riding and rodeoing.
Dr. Jared Walahoski
I am a native of Elyria, NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1998 with a B.S in Animal Science. I received my D.V.M. from Kansas State University in 2002. My wife, Kristine, and I have three sons, Spencer, Parker and Grant, and two daughters, Paige and Meg. My practice interests include feedlot and cow/calf health and management, and companion animal wellness. I enjoy being outdoors and watching the Huskers.
Dr. Eliot Linsenmeyer
I hail from Lincoln, NE and graduated from Kansas State University in 2010. Upon graduation, I practiced at a predominantly cow-calf practice in Steele, North Dakota. I joined OVS to be closer to family and to practice more feedlot medicine. My wife, Christa, and I have two sons, Levi and Caleb.
Dr. Jessica Robb
I hail from McCook, NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska with my undergrad and from Iowa State University with my DVM. Upon graduation, I practiced at a predominantly cow-calf practice in Chinook, MT. I joined OVS to be closer to family and to practice in a true mixed animal practice.
Dr. Paige Schmidt
Dr. Paige Schmidt, DVM, MS, started in September 2024 as an associate veterinarian at OVS. Paige grew up in Crystal Springs, North Dakota, on her family’s fourth-generation commercial cow-calf and backgrounding operation which played an integral role in her passion for the beef industry and professional goals. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, ND where she played collegiate women’s basketball for 4 years. Paige graduated from veterinary school at Kansas State University in May 2024 and completed a concurrent Master’s degree in veterinary biomedical sciences with the Beef Cattle Institute in October 2024. Her research focused on feedlot production and respiratory pathology throughout the feeding period. She finds value in being involved in the industry and veterinary medicine on a larger scale and demonstrates this quality through involvement with various national and state organizations. While at OVS, Paige primarily enjoys doing cattle and equine medicine.
Dr. Hannah Wolfe-Johns
Dr. Hannah Wolfe-Johns, DVM I grew up here in Overton, Nebraska and graduated with my DVM from the 2+2 program at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln / Iowa State University in 2024. My husband Dominic and I live in Elm Creek with our cats Rascal, Phoebe, and Angus, and our bearded dragon Gilly. I came to OVS to be closer to family and because I love the challenges and variety that come with being a mixed animal practitioner in rural Nebraska.
Scott Hinrichs
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS
I grew up in Kearney, NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a B.S. in Business Management in 2005. I earned my M.B.A. in 2007 from the University of Nebraska. My wife Crystal and I have two daughters, Avery and Leighton. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and playing many different sports.
Bryce Williams
Nutritionist
I grew up in Eddyville, NE and graduated in 1991 from University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in the Ag Honors program emphasizing biology, finance and genetics. I’ve worked in feed sales and nutrition management for the last 9 years and in farming, feedlot, cow-calf and livestock marketing with my father and brother for 25 years. My wife, Diana and I have a daughter, Sage and son, Tennyson that are active in 4-h, FFA and high school activities at S-E-M.
Shana Zerr
I grew up and went to school in Pierce, Nebraska. Upon high school graduation, I ventured to the tiny town of Curtis, Nebraska, to attend the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. I graduated from there in 2010 with a Veterinary Technician degree and immediately went to work at a local veterinary clinic. I joined the OVS team as a licensed Vet Tech in December, 2012. I reside in Overton.
Sandy Wright
I am a native of Burwell, NE and graduated from Chadron State College with a B.S, in Business Management and Agri-Business. I earned my Master of Science degree in Organizational Management which was also from Chadron State. I am blessed to have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. I join the OVS team in April 2020.
Emily Netherton
I grew up on my family’s ranch outside of Lexington and have moved back with my husband, Roman. I graduated with my Veterinary Technician degree from NCTA in May of 2017 and was hired on full time at OVS as a Licensed Vet Tech shortly after. While I enjoy all aspects of the clinic, my main passion is being an equine tech and assisting horses in every way. In my spare time I love spending time with my horse, my husband, and running our cow calf pairs together.
Sarah Waltemath
I grew up in Elm Creek, NE. After graduation I attended school in West Virginia at Meredith Manor Equestrian Center and rode horses for a trainer in Texas. I returned to Nebraska and attended NCTA where I earned a degree in the Veterinary Technician program. Before joining OVS I worked at a mixed animal practice. My husband and I have three kids and we reside in Bertrand where I enjoy riding my horses and chasing my kids to all of their activities.
Makenzie Vapenik
I was born and raised in Lexington, NE. I graduated from NCTA with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2000. I worked as a Licensed Vet Tech in Hayes Center, NE prior to joining OVS in October of 2021. I love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else. I love working with cattle in all stages from newborn babies to mature cattle. I have a few cattle of my own along with 3 horses, 5 dogs, and 2 cats.
